What is your question?
My 2003 volvo xc70 cross country drains the battery when it is parked for a few days. I have replaced the battery with a new one. A week later it was dead. When a hook up jumpers the ground will ark. I can take the ground jumper cable off and reconnect it and it doesn't ark. ????
How long has your 2003 Volvo XC70 had this problem?
It had a dead battery when i bought it. The battery was only a year old.

Hello, starting backwards, when you jump start your battery, connect the positive cable first, then, connect the negative cable to a ground away from the battery -- not to the battery itself. When done properly, you will have no sparks, and even if you do, they won't be in a dangerous area. Sounds like perhaps a parasitic draw could be occurring which keeps the battery in use when it shouldn't be. A test for the source of this draw is needed; it requires some know how, tooling and skilled effort. www.repairpal.com/repair-shops
