Driver side power seat will only move in the reverse mode half way back and stop

The control cable must be jamming or failed, look under the seat make sure there is nothing obstructing the operating mechanism but it is likely the seat may have to have the upholstery removed or pulled back to see what is failed. An auto upholstery shop may be cheapest to diagnose what is wrong.
