problem starting the car.

Hello, Unfortunately, there are just too many causes for intermittent starting issues. They can range from engine management to evaporative emissions components. If there is nothing that sticks out to you, the starter only turns sometimes, it backfires, the fuel pump doesn't run, etc, then you will certainly need the vehicle diagnosed to establish a solution. Concerning your other post, if the dome light is staying on, you may have a bad door switch, interior light dimmer or off/on switch, or the body control module may not be turning them off due to an additional fault. Also, I want to guess that when the vehicle does not start that you hear nothing. No clicking, no starter turning, just turn the key to start and you hear silence? Is that accurate?
