What is your question?
My son's 2001 Volvo V70 "died" on the highway. The voltage light was on. It was towed to Firestone. They replaced the battery, stating the alternator is charging properly. He drove to the grocery store later that day. First, the headlights would not turn on, so he used his flood lights. Then, all the lights started pulsing, and each time they pulsed they got brighter. Anybody know what this is? Thanks, Melanie

You could ask them if they used a memory saver when they changed the battery,If not one of the modules may have lost memory and need to be reset. This car has a headlight module. We could help you with this using our Volvo Vida softwear. The chain stores just dont have the proper tooling for diagnosing these cars.
I would get the charging system properly checked, you may have a failing alternator, but I would also take the advice of ambler as well. This car has a very complex electrical system and it needs to be looked at by a trained person with the proper equipment.
Thanks. Unfortunately, his car is in Altoona. The two truck driver didn't know of any Volvo mechanics in the area, so he just took it to Firestone. I'm in the process of looking for another mechanic that can work on his car, but right now, my son took it back to Firestone. Any recommendations? Thanks!!
