I have a strange sound, like a rattle clunk.

Probably the suspension, and it happens randomly, not with every bump but frequently enough to be annoying, also the front end it's super bouncy, I don't know if that's just a Volvo thing or not.

What makes this problem better or worse?

Worse when going slower, definitely not the motor or tranny.
