Gear shifting is hard.

If (and it's a big if), the hard shifting is related to a software issue, you'll need to take it to a dealer.
Also, a European specialist shop may be able to perform this as well. I suggest that at the same time you have all the SW in the vehicle updated. You can find shops and dealers here: http://repairpal.com/volvo-within-10-miles-of-atlanta-georgia-31119
Thank you for your advice. If understood correct basically the car needs to be connected to a reader and then be applied the updated software I.e. 10min job? In the meantime I had same issue 7 months ago and i had the gearbox oil changed which resolved the issue but now its back. Does this indicate anything?
Several things can cause this...SW, fluid condition/level, internal issues etc. The appropriate approach is to read all systems to see if there's any diagnostic info related to the transmission, update SW if one is available, and replace or top-up the fluid as necessary. Also, be sure the shop checks for any related service bulletins or recalls. If the problem persists then further diagnosis and repairs will be needed.
