Most of the time when I leave my vehicle for a while and get back in it and start it, my message center reads "alarm triggered, check car". I have also noticed my caution lights flashing for about five minutes, unless I unlock the car. The horn does not sound, just the flashers, flashes.

Don't know that this is your problem, but I had a similar issue and it turned out to be related to the battery. It was several years ago, so I don't remember if the battery was dying or if it had to do with grounding (I had both problems at diff times), but once the battery issue was taken care of, the alarm and flashing lights issues were resolved.
