What is your question?
My Volvo has 220,000 miles and still starts like a brand new vehicle, except if it has not been started for several days. I checked the fuel pressure at the fuel rail, and it's 45 psi, but drops down to nothing in about 15 minutes. I'm concerned: is the fuel pump nearing the end of its life?
What makes this problem better or worse?
When the car is unused for several days.
How long has your 2004 Volvo S60 had this problem?
More than a week

Hi - Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. The best answer I can give is based off of assumptions of your fuel pressure test. If you have a manual gauge on the fuel rail and the key is on - you should have a static fuel pressure of about 29 psi - after 20 minutes this should be a steady pressure. If you have a manual gauge on with the engine running, you should have maybe 55 psi of pressure, give or take a few pounds. As long as you can validate your test is reasonable, then yes - it would seem the fuel pump is in need of replacement.
