What is your question?
My car's AWD quits working. What could possibly be wrong by most accounts? I was told the OIL Pump needs to be replaced. I thought oil pump functions in circulating oil to lubricate engine components. What's that got to do with kicking in the AWD? Sorry, I just probably am so naive about car mechanics.
Hi, thanks for the idea! It was actually a Volvo dealership's service who reported they were getting an error message from the oil pump when they ran a diagnostics. I should have also known then to ask about whether they checked the oil pressure before being conclusive. But given that is true, I am still a bit doubtful about the connection of any problems in the oil pump to kicking the AWD to function. They are saying the cost for the oil pump fix will be $860+. I would be willing to get it done, bottom line question is - will it ultimately resolve the AWD malfunctioning?
