code p0451

I had the same problem. One repair shop hooked up to the computer and gave me a $500 repair estimate, which included mass air flow sensor, plugs replacement, evaporative system leak, etc. Went to another shop who found a leak in the MAP hose. Replace hose, no more problems.

The idle air valves are known to cause this issue, but you really need have it checked, I don't condone replacing parts without verifying they are bad, like was done with the Mass airflow sensor. The valve may not set a code, and it definitely wont set the p0451 code. I suggest you find a gold shield smog station near you and have them diagnose this for you.
