I was driving the car with minimal problems then all of a sudden i had to give the car little gas to start up but no big problem. Now, if i take my foot off the gas the car will stall. What do i need to change to fix this problem??? Please help asap

This is likely a bad idle control valve, but replacing parts without checking them first is a good way to waste money, so verify this is the problem first or take it to a shop. http://repairpal.com/volvo-repair-in-stamford-connecticut
Had the same probblem with my 01 v7o t5, try disconnecting MAF sensor electrical connecter you will notice a differance, if it runs a little better or the same it may be your MAF sensor, located in mane intake air next to air filter. Good Luck
Thanks, I'm hoping this is the only problem. B/c i already changed the fuel filter, spark plugs, ignition coil, and just got a MAP sensor b/c I brought it to a shop and had it checked and it came up the MAP sensor was bad. I'm doing this now and looks as though a lot of carbon just came out is this normal?
That carbon is what makes the valve stick open, causing the issue your having. Replace the valve and you;ll be OK.
just cleaned it thoroughly and the car still doesn't idle. I guess i do need to change it out, unless it takes some time to adjust.....?
If you cleaned it and it's still not idling, then you can try replacing it, but try to verify that the valve is stuck open first. Try working it free or tapping on it a few times, see if the internal mechanism moves freely.
yeah, thanks guys, it was that the ICV was broken. So i bought a new one and it's now fixed!
