would a bad abs module cause me speedometer to stop working.

A bad abs module caused my speedometer to stop working on my 2004 xc70. I used a xemodex.com replacement. worked great. Requires a special torx socket though. A torx female socket, not male like we use all the time. Best of luck, Barbershores
