I just change my battery and requesting the radio code.

this is done by the serial number on the radio, not from the VIN. radio must be removed; then you can call the Volvo dealer for the code. there is a special tool required to remove the radio that most european car shops have, so don't attempt removing the radio without it.
Are you sure about that special tool? All I had to do was to pop out the two recessed handles on the sides of the radio, and it pulled right out. I don't recall doing anything special, and it's original radio.
