What is your question?
I hv a 96 Volvo 960 Wgn that sat for 4 mo during my hospitalization & recovery. I paid the REG fees but I needed a smog test too. Now that I'm well I went to start up my car and it was dead. Yesterday I bought a new Battery and my AAA delivered it and drove like 15 miles on the freeway.Today I called the Smog Station and they told me I need to drive 60 to 80 miles before bringing in my car to be smoged because the shop said when my battery died, it reset some computer reading and that to reset the computer I need to drive 60-80 miles or I wont pass the smog test. IS THAT TRUE? Also I do understand that the Stereo will need to be reset, but I also read someplace that the Factory Alarm System will get reset too, IS THAT TRUE? Will an alarm system that is not reset cause the battery to drain? I got the car from a guy who let the battery drain and he lost use the the radio, but I wonder if my battery drained due to the car alarm not being reset properly from the prev owner? Please help me
