My VW is a Caddy 2011. 63 Kw (turbo) model EPC light and rough running.

EPC light comes on and engine runs rough. When I turn engine off and re-start, it's OK again. This seems to happen at the start of the day, especially when it's been a damp night. What's going on? The guarantee has just run out, and I know that it will cost an arm and a leg just to get it seen to, so is there anything I can do?
