Ok, now it's clear. There is a software update for this problem. Here is the TSB (I think this is the problem with your VW also): A/T Controls - A/T Upshifts Too Soon/Too Often Group:01 Number: 05-17 Date: Dec. 20, 2005 Subject: Update Programming Transmission Control Module (TCM) for Improved Upshifting Model(s): Touareg 3.2L V6 (eng. code BMX) 2005 --> 2006 Condition: Customer states transmission seems to upshift too soon or too often. Service - Perform Update Programming (Flashing) procedure for TCM as follows: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The rest is a technical mambo-jumbo about how to update and what software, but I think this is the fix for your car. Please let us know if the new software fixed it, so other Touareg owners with similar problem will know what to do. Zee
