What is your question?
I have a 2105 VW Tiguan, the check engine light came on i checked the code and it was for a misfire in cylinder 3. I reset the codes and it took a couple weeks before the light came back on. The car was running smooth no issues. When the light came back on it was the same code. I replaced the spark plugs, checked the gap on the existing plugs they all looked in good condition and the gap was still correct. I also replaced the coil pack for the number 3 cylinder. I reset the codes again. This time it took 4-5 weeks before the light came back on. What else should i look at? I checked some forums and while the issue was listed I did not see where anyone posted the resolution.

Hey, my name is Dusty and I'm one of the auto experts with RepairPal's Car Genius team here to help! It sounds like you've already done some solid troubleshooting! Also, inspecting the wiring harness and connectors related to cylinder 3 for any damage or loose connections could be beneficial. Since you've replaced the spark plugs and the coil pack for cylinder 3, and the issue persists at least intermittently, it might be worth a deeper dive. If you're using a generic OBD scan tool, you could be missing valuable information. There are manufacturer codes and data that generic or basic scan tools simply aren't equipped to see, which is really like only having a few pieces of a very large puzzle.
