Why won't my ESP light ever go out?

What is your question?

Have tried disconnecting battery for a minute. Have tried pushing and holding in ESP "off" switch on console. Have tried depressing brake pedal 5 times while hazard lights are blinking. Nothing seems to work. Car is always in all-wheel drive!

How long has your 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan had this problem?
