Why doesn’t my Interior light not come on when I open my door?

When I take my car in to get serviced my interior light is on. However, after the mechanic completes the work (oil change, tire rotation) The mechanic seems to cause the interior light not to come. Once I notice the problem I take the car back and it takes the mechanic months to figure out the problem. Of course once the problem is solved it’s time to take the car back in and the problem starts all over again..
