What is your question?
did i put enough antifreeze in it? light still comes on and needle goes toward highest reading, the reservoir was bone dry, never seen that before I added antifreeze, so i did not have engine on when I filled it to the second level. then when I returned home I looked at fluid after turning off engine and it went down and came back up but at first there was no fluid, which makes me think I did not fill it enough and i may not have used the correct fluid but it seemed to mix in the old fluid that was low inside engine. what do i do now?
What makes this problem better or worse?
not enough fluid? driving causes needle to move higher then back down then back up
How long has your 2017 Volkswagen Passat had this problem?

Hello, it sounds like there could be an air pocket in the cooling system for some reason. Were there recent cooling system related repairs performed? If not, a pressure test of the cooling system is needed to figure out why your vehicle lost all that coolant in the first place.
