Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! An engine that stalls at low speeds in your Passat is often tied to issues with the idle air control (IAC) valve, throttle body, or even a crankshaft position sensor. If the IAC or throttle body is dirty, it can’t regulate airflow properly at low speeds, causing stalls. On the other hand, if the crankshaft position sensor is failing, it might intermittently cut fuel and spark. A good cleaning of the throttle body or a quick diagnostic scan can help pinpoint the culprit. With 60K on the clock, it’s likely nothing too major—just needs a little love!
