It's a 2009 VW Passat Komfort I've changed the plugs and coils but if you try and step on the gas it will sputter and cause check engine light to come on any help figuring this issue out would be greatly appreciated
What makes this problem better or worse?
If I'm driving with the AC on and try and take off or excelerate to hard it sputters

The FSI and TFSI engines have a couple quirks that can cause this, the most prevalent is dirty intake valves.
If the intake manifold has never been removed and the valves and intake ports cleaned AND if you are over the 60,000 mile mark, it is likely the cause, especially if there are no other trouble codes.
Scan, see what codes you get, and if you have anything besides P0300-P0304, let me know.
