What is your question?
My car has been through 2 "certified" mechanics, including my local Audi dealership. As well as myself trying to fix the problem. My Passat misfires constantly, I've replaced spark plugs, ignition coils, and the air filter. Audi replaced the connections to my coils. (I did my repairs before taking it to Audi). The last thing I can think of is a failing ECU. If there is another option I can look into please let me know.

A failing ECU can produce many different symptoms, from a inoperative running light bulb to a hard misfire that your experiencing. Our tests would include isolating the issue, starting with the basics (some of which it sounds like you've already tested) all the way down to particular input and output circuits at the ECU. What type of misfire (single cylinder, multi cylinder, inconsistent, specific, random, etc.) would determine what type of testing is necessary. Have you had any progress on the issue in the last 4 months?
Thank you for your response. Every mechanic I speak to often refuse to look at the ECU because it is such a large part of the car. And repairing it would be expensive and time consuming. In these last four months I've gone to a mechanic that specializes in German cars, that's non dealership. They believe it is a faulty fuel injector, on the fourth cylinder. Every time I've ran codes it has been a misfire on the fourth cylinder. But it's shown other cylinders in the past.
