What is your question?
I had a battery put in in 1/2008. Yesterday at the 70,000 mile service check the service dept. told me that it was necessary to replace the battery due to failing the test. When I questioned why I needed a new batter even though I had not been having any problems with it they said that when they have to work on the car the computer component is not able to recalculate the new settings and readings so a new battery is needed. They said something else about the software not being able to read the old readings. Was I taken advantage of by the salesman?

Now it's hard to tell. I always show the test results to our clients, I do the test in front of them. One thing is for sure, modern computer controlled vehicles needs a stabile power source. Bad or failing battery can cause problems, even damages control units permanently. You might actually had warranty on that battery in they should ask your approval to replace it. If you did not authorized them - for your request - they need to put your old battery back. Some good batteries has 1.5-2 years full replacement warranty with 5-6 years pro-rated. Zee
