What is your question?
Engine light is on. Local repair shop diagnosis said inner timing chain is 25 degree advanced at top of motor and that could take 8 hours to pull engine apart to inspect, find out cause and whether other damage has been made by belt problem, as well as fix timing chain and put engine back together. Mechanic noted also that other problems could surface after timing chain is fixed. Cause could be a cracked oil pan (happened prior, was fixed after all oil leaked out, and all seemed fine for the next 75 miles til engine light came on) or cause could be a failed actuator. Question 1: is it worth repairing? Question 2: is it worth considering replacing the engine? Estimate given for time to do an engine swap is 16 hours Mileage is 150K, and was hoping we could reach 200K with this car and not buy another now - given high prices and high demand for cars in covid pandemic. thanks for any tips.
