What is your question?
I had both flex pipes replaced on my 2004 passat glx 4motion as both of them were leaking. I drove it for 3-4 days and the engine light came on. The codes read p0421& p0431. I cleared them and drove 4-5 more days and the engine light came on with the same codes. The driving I do with this car is mostly on the highway. Is this more of a sign that both cats are bad or something is up with a couple of sensors? Thanks for the help.

Usually for a V6 engine, P0420 and P0430 would be bank one and bank two catalyst inefficiency codes. These are instead codes related to cold start expectations -- which would lead me to be concerned about the quality and grade of flex pipes used -- original Volkswagen? -- as well as sensors -- have they been replaced? The ones before and after the cats? Something odd is happening here -- what was the cause of replacing the pipes in the first place, leaks?
I had these codes come up before I had the flex pipes replaced. The left pipe had a leak in it and the right one ended up breaking and just hanging there. I had them replaced and I am still getting these codes. The engine light comes on a few days after the codes have been erased and after I have been driving for awhile. I don't know if the sensors have been replaced or not. I just bought the car 6 months ago. Feel free to ask any more question if needed. Thanks again.
