Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your vehicle. When both the check engine light and the TCS (traction control system) light turn on in your Jetta, it often points to an issue affecting the engine performance and stability control, such as a sensor malfunction. The TCS system relies on engine and braking systems data to manage traction, so an engine issue—like a misfire, oxygen sensor fault, or even something with the throttle body—can trigger both lights. Since the check engine light has now stayed on, retrieving the specific diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) with a scanner can narrow down the issue. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered.
