Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! After a cylinder head replacement that still won't run right, the first thing that jumps to mind is a timing issue. If the cam timing is even slightly off after reassembly this engine will run terribly and actually get worse under acceleration exactly like you're describing. It's one of those maddening scenarios where everything looks right but the timing is just a tooth off on the chain or belt. A compression test and a careful verification of cam and crank timing positions against factory specs would be the place to start before throwing any more parts at it. Sometimes after a big job like a head replacement it's worth having a second set of experienced eyes go back through the assembly.
