Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! P2431 points to an issue with the secondary air injection system, specifically a pressure sensor circuit. A rat likely chewed on some wiring under the hood—critters love snacking on engine bay insulation. First, inspect the harnesses near the air pump and pressure sensor for chewed wires or loose connections. You can try patching the wires yourself with heat-shrink connectors or electrical tape if you’re handy. If the pump itself isn’t kicking on now, it could be fried from running irregularly, or the wiring damage may have cut its power. A mechanic can test it, but DIY repair of the wiring might save you from a big bill!
