What could be wrong with my 2009 Volkswagen Jetta 2.5 manual transmission.

Last night we were driving and heard a pop noise going over a bump. Beforehand the gears were already hard to get through. We heard the pop and then first gear just completely went out and the Other gears I’m having trouble going into. Before, I had the clutch replaced, and the shifter cable was not adjusted right. I got it adjusted with a zip tie and I got first gear back but still had issues with difficulties shifting gears. I could go into them but just harder. After the pop that’s when first went out and having difficulties going into other gears. What could this be? Cable ? Shifter bushings ? Master cylinder ? Etc.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Shifting makes it worse.
