What is your question?
My key would not turn in my ignition cylinder and at one point the key could not be removed and the engine could not be shut off. I removed the fuel pump fuse in the fuse box inside the driver side panel. The engine shut off and i then ordered a new ignition housing bc of the failing part. I recently swapped the ignition housing out in my 2007 Volkswagen Jetta Wolfsburg edition. Once I got my new part I took out the old housing and took the ignition switch off the old failing housing and put it on the new part.I was then able to turn the key all the way but got no crank no start. There is a clip that I cannot find any connection for as if it was never there it’s circled in yellow in a picture if I can send it to you. All the dash lights come on and it has a solid yellow steering wheel and wrench.

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. So sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Jetta. It sounds like there may be an issue with the wiring or the ignition switch after replacing the ignition cylinder. The clip you're mentioning might be related to a connection for the steering lock or ignition system, and if it's not connected, it could prevent the engine from starting. I recommend double-checking all electrical connections in the area and verifying that the immobilizer system functions correctly. If you cannot find the connection, it might be helpful to consult a repair manual or bring in a technician to resolve the issue. If the new ignition cylinder comes with new keys, those keys will also need to be programmed.
