So when the car is either in park or at a stop the engine will die. After engine failure it's as though the battery is dead. when you turn the key there is no response from the starter, no electronics come on etc., the only two ways to get the engine running again is to either wait, usually a few hours, or I disconnect and reconnect the negative terminal on the battery. The alternator tests fine, the battery and cables are new, we recently replaced a very dirty fuel filter which seemed to have solved the problem for a while, but it has since returned. Oh, and there are never any codes that show up when the car is connected to a computer. Thanks a bunch.

change fuel filter again, if it cures problem again then you gas tank has been contaminated.also check mass air flow. As for not restarting,not sure, maybe coil or computer.
changed the coils, cleaned the MAF sensor, and changed the power supply relay to no avail. Car is still dying. I did forget to mention that everytime it dies the clock and the trip Odometer reset. Any thoughts?
