My automatic 2002 jetta wagon will not work in reverse as of yesterday. It moves forwrd fine but I cannot go backwards. what is the problema nd how much to fix it?

you have to either replace the transmiison from junk yard that will cost around 1500.00 dollars i went that routh on my vw jetta 4 door sedan or to rebuilt it will cost around 3500.00 to 4000.00
