Have a 2002 VW Jetta 1.8T. Had another engine put in. Now after less than week the car started making a loud noise.Took it to another mechanic.Ohers didn't tighten the turbo. Drove the car for about 3 days and now we have a leak and don't know where it is coming from. Antifreeze sprayed out all under the hood. There was no coolant so got it home and now water or coolant will NOT stay in the reservoir. As soon as put in leaks out. Car starts up,just can't keep water in it. What could be wrong???

VW have a problem with cracking coolant housings and coolant reservoirs. The way an automotive shop would locate the leak is by removing the radiator cap or expansion tank cap and attaching an adapter that screws on in place of the radiator cap. Something that looks like a bicycle pump with a pressure gauge attached to it is used to "pump up" pressure to simulate pressure generated when the cooling system is at operating temperature, the leak is then found sometimes it is obviously leaking from a coolant hose or cracked housing, failed gasket or water pump, sometimes the engines cooling system needs to be inspected from below or inspected using a mirror and flash light.
