2002/vw jetta 4sp automatic making loud screeching noise when accelerating 1st 2nd 3rd gear stops in 4th
What is your question?
When accelerating when its screeching if you let your foot of the gas some of the time it goes away. When in 4th let your foot off the gas it'll chirp. It used to just chirp when I put my foot on the gas. Last winter spun the tires in some ice, then it started screeching all the time
What makes this problem better or worse?
Its the same way either cold or hot

Hello, it's important to audibly be able to tell what area the noise is coming from. The drive belt would be one location to inspect. I suppose it could be internal to the transmission, but I'm not sure what that would be that is screeching.
Hands on and ears on inspection is essential.
