Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! After seven years of sitting, your Jetta's probably feeling a little neglected. Even though it looks immaculate, time can still wreak havoc on things like fluids, seals, and wiring. If the jump didn't work, I’d first recommend replacing the battery rather than jumping it. Batteries that old are toast. After that, check the fuel—if it’s been in the tank for seven years, it’s basically varnish now, and you’ll want to drain it. Also, take a look at the spark plugs, belts, and hoses, since they might have degraded.
