DYNOMITE IS A GOOD PLACE TO START, WITH A REMOTE DETONATOR SO YOU DON'T GET BLOWN UP! OR YOU CAN REPLACE THE CLUTCH CABLE THAT USUALLY IS THE CAUSE YOU DESCRIBED. IT MAY ALSO BE INTERNAL CLUTCH COMPONANT WEAR OR LEAKAGE WHERE FLIUD HAS SATURATED THE DISC AND FLY WHEEL, AND A DAMAGED OR WORN THROW OUT BEARING IS A CONSIDERATION TOO! START WITH THE CABLE!...DON'T HOLD YOUR BREATH, OPEN YOUR WALLET FOR THE BIG VACUME IF IT ISN'T! CLUTCH WORK IS AN 8 HOUR TAKE DOWN AND ASSEMBLY, 5 HOUR IF YOU REALLY KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING!
So---I too am the proud owner of a 2000 Jetta 2.0--giant bag-o-problems!! The fans bothe of them aren't working. Where do I start in trying to remedy this dilema?? It is in fact clutch driven - right?? Also, would this contribute to the silly car running fine and then barely running at all?? This car is a pain in the Ask an expert!! Thanks
