What is your question?
Hi, my name is Joel and I recently replaced the flywheel from a 2004 GTI thinking that it was sold. A rattling sound that it started making but it turns out that sound is still there. Could you please help me on suggestions or ideas on what to do next to solve that rattling sound problem. Thank you Email. lagoonee@icloud.com

Hey Joel, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! If your GTI is still rattling after replacing the flywheel, it might be worth checking the heat shields for looseness or damage, as they can often cause rattling sounds. Also, inspect the exhaust system for any loose components or hangers, and consider the engine mounts, as worn mounts can lead to rattling. Another possibility is the timing chain or tensioner; if these are worn, they can produce rattling noises. A professional inspection might be necessary if these checks don't resolve the issue. Good luck! If you have any other questions, please call us at 877-913-1554! We'll gladly find you a certified RepairPal shop in your area!
