My (GASOLINE) golf started up and sputtered and died. Now it just cranks normal

It was running fine with no issues...... I started the car and it was barely running and the car was shaking and the car died. I did that about 4 times and it sputtered and died each time. And then now it just turns over as normal but doesn't fire up
