What is your question?
It takes up to 5 seconds to start. Someone mechanics says that is some kind of sensor that need to be changed and other says it is normal for Diesel engine to take up to 5 second to start.

If it is very cold out, like Alaska winter or fall, you should expect a long delay... if its HOT HOT like Georgia in the summer and it's not starting right away, you need to look into potential starter, battery, and glow plug issues. If you live where your account says, Arkansas, and the note says you asked this question in december....looks like Little Rock weather is mostly 40s and 50s if not a bit warmer. If you were you starting it in the early morning when it's chilly, It might be cold enough to cause a short delay and if you try turning the car on before then it will just turn over and hesitate until they do warm then it may spit and cough a tad because of the wrong fuel mix before smoothing out and cooperating ...so you should wait till that coil symbol turns off before starting. If its taking a while and it's warm out, you may check that you don't need to replace a glow plug and from what I've heard, its not uncommon for a glow plug cable to go also.. but it should be a fairly simple fix. Also check your battery is carrying enough juice. exceedingly hot and cold weather will drain a battery and I've gone through batteries much faster with my tdi...I'm not sure why. I hope this helps. I'm no expert, I'm a tdi user.
