I recently bought a 1999 golf mk1 1.6 carburetor.After a month did not want to start. I looked like a dead battery but had it tested and it was fine. After putting the battery back it started and all was good again. This has now happened a couple of times. One odd thing I noticed is that the lights on the dash come on and when you turn the key all lights go off and the rev needle jumps. Yesterday it did it again but now it just does not want to start as it jeeps doing the same.
What makes this problem better or worse?
