yes. if an engine has a timing belt, you cannot replace a timing chain because it does not have one. it either has one or the other.

Once they were all timing "chains", an actual chain. Now many are belts with "teeth" on the inside that match gears and do the same thing. Thus, the timing belt does the same function, just an upgraded part.
