My diesel golf starts when I reach my destination it won't restart to come back

This problem happens when it wants to like I started the car at 12 today went to start it at 1400 it wouldn't start . Turns over but just doesn't start

What makes this problem better or worse?

I have started it by jump leads once but then changed battery and still does it
