Recommend an experienced shop to replace the transmission in my 2003 Eurovan?

My sweet '03 Eurovan too, with 110,000 miles is having similar AT problems. It starts off fine and then hesitates, shudders, rattles & vibrates getting into 2nd and 3rd and does fine after that. Sometimes letting my foot off the gas at just the right time eases the rattling and charges smoothly. Estimates from a generic transmission repair shops vary from $3800. VW transmissions are complicated, if there are no european cars in its parking lot then continue doing your research. I still haven't found a repair shop most want $120 to do a diagnostic. informative posts about AT's on the Go-Westy site
