What is your question?
The check engine light came on when she first bought it 2 months ago but the dealership said it was a rusted valve to the muffler. On Saturday, she was on interstate and the car wouldn't go above 58, it felt like the brake was on and it jerked. The AC won't blow cold air so I took it to a garage to have both checked. The mechanic called and said the air compressor is out on the AC and the transmission is about gone. He said you can only put new parts and it has to be done back at the dealership.
How long has your 2010 Volkswagen Eos had this problem?
A few days, only owned it for 2 months

I'd get a second opinion. You can most definitely get this repaired at a good Euro Indy shop and save a lot of money. Use this link to find a good shop near you. https://repairpal.com/repair-shops Alex
