Hi - Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. The first thing I would do is check to see if your engine cooling fan turns on when needed. If not, it could be the key to your problems. The fan motor(s) or the commands to engage the fan could be of concern. Next, you'll want to know if your thermostat is opening and closing as it should. Monitoring engine coolant temperature with a diagnostic tool and an infrared heat gun could be helpful. Beyond that, check for any bubbles in your cooling system. Exhaust back pressure from an engine cylinder head gasket sealing issue could be present - a wild guess but something to rule out.
