What is your question?
Car leaking coolant all over garage floor. Temp gauge flashing. Had car towed to my dealership & they claim my car has an oil leak that damaged the water pump. The following is their statement: Tech confirmed coolant leak to be coming from the water pump. Tech also noted the engine valve cover to be leaking oil. The oil leak from the valve cover is leaking down onto the water pump causing the water pump seal to swell with oil causing the water pump to leak coolant. The oil leak from the valve cover must be repaired before the coolant leak can be resolved. Failure to do so will cause new water pump to not be covered under warranty if the coolant happens again due to the same oil leak. The water pump on the car is not a defective unit. It is the leak from the valve cover has caused the water pump seal to fail causing these leaks. My question is, is that possible? I don’t have any oil leaks present in my garage. Not sure if they’re being honest.
Thank you so much. I just needed verification. The cost is very concerning but it has to be done. Thanks again!
