hazard lights go on when starting the car

What is your question?

When Starting my 2002 VW Cabrio, the hazard lights go on for about 3 to 5 mintutes and then shut off. In addition, sometime the car starts without a problem and other times, it requires a jump. The starter was replaced last year and a new core was put into the alternator a week ago. Any suggestions. I just purchased this vehicle.
