Can you tell from VIN whether engine is BPS or BPR? If not how?

Although I don't have data for sure, BPR appears to be "SULEV" - super ultra low emissions, which would be basically California and related areas., and BPS would be the rest of the United States. You likely have BPS if you are in NH.
