transmission up shifts hard 1st to 2nd and 3rd gear also down shifts hard

Had the same problem with our's.We took it to a repair shop and they overhauled transmission and put a new valve body.The valve body was the whole problem.Works fine now,be prepaired to spend $$$$$.We lucked out when we bought ours,we purchased a warranty at the time.

Mine was the same it turned out I had a bad valve body in my transmission. I had to have the entire transmission rebuilt.

I have a 2004 VW turbo, i bought it used and about 6 mouths after i bought it the gears where shifting hard between 1st and 2nd. This only happened after the car was warm. Of course i brought it to the shop and it was my tranny(valve body) i had it totally rebuilt and now it works good but be prepared to spend money... mines was about 1,300$ and that was with a family friend discount.
